Known as the “gateway to Europe” due to its large seaport, Rotterdam is a cultural melting pot with over 170 nationalities. Famous for its modern architecture as well as inventing ‘Kapsalon’, Rotterdam is home to many internationally renowned knowledge institutions and universities. With so much diversity, innovation and know-how in one place, it’s no wonder this city is developing into a major European tech & start-up hub with more than 500 tech start-ups (and counting). We believe Rotterdam is one of the best places to enter the Tech World– independent of your prior knowledge.
Q: How much of the program is online versus in person sessions? A: The learning phase is conducted online on your own time with weekly sessions in the evenings with the community. These sessions will alternate between in person in Rotterdam and online. We will share the schedule with you once you have enrolled in the program.
Q: Can I do more than one track at a time? A: It is only possible to do one track per semester. However, you are more than welcome to apply again and follow a different track in the next semester, spring/summer of 2024!
Q: Do we admit students from outside the Rotterdam region? A: We put great importance on our students being able to physically take part in the community so we prioritize applications from those located in the Netherlands and able to travel to Rotterdam (around once every two weeks). If you live outside of the Netherlands, there are other locations that Techlabs Rotterdam is closely affiliated with. Check out the website at https://techlabs.org/locations
Q: What happens if I get accepted to the program? A: Congratulations! Upon acceptance you will get an email with further instructions. Steps that need to be taken include signing a NDA document and providing proof of payment of 80 euro commitment fee which will be reimbursed upon completion of the program. Further details on the program and how to get started will be explained during the Kick-Off meeting.
